AUDITIONS
​
Auditions for this teen production are open to students ages 11-15
(must be this age when rehearsals start on June 8, 2026)
​​
Auditions: Sunday, April 19th, 5:30pm-8:30pm & Monday, April 20th, 6pm-9pm (there will be two 90-minute sessions each day - plan to stay for the entire 90 minutes)
​
Callbacks: Wednesday, April 22nd, 6pm-9pm (by invite)
​​
Location: Strongsville High School Little Theater, 20025 Lunn Rd, Strongsville, OH 44136 (enter Door D)
AUDITION PROCESS
All who are auditioning need to stay the entire 90 minutes. Auditions will consist of singing, acting and movement. There will be nothing to prepare ahead of time.
​
During the audition, our Music Director will teach the group a song selection from the show and our Choreographer will teach some dance steps for everyone to perform.
​
Prior to the audition, everyone that is signed up will be emailed the song you will be learning in case you want to practice it beforehand.
​
Please come dressed appropriately for movement. Wear comfortable, flexible clothing that allows a full range of motion—such as dancewear, athletic wear or other rehearsal-appropriate attire. Avoid restrictive or formal clothing (e.g., jeans, skirts or dress shoes). Soft-soled or movement-friendly footwear is recommended. No sandals or flip-flops, please.

REHEARSALS & PERFORMANCES
Rehearsals: Begin June 8th
Rehearsals will take place Monday-Thursday from 12:00pm-3:30pm
Tech Week rehearsals (July 6th-9th) will be 11:00am-3:30pm.

​Performance Dates: July 9th-12th
Performance times are Thursday, Friday & Saturday at 7:30pm and Sunday at 2pm
​​
All rehearsals and performances will take place in the Strongsville High School Main Auditorium, 20025 Lunn Rd, Strongsville, OH 44136
​
CONFLICTS​
​
Attendance by each participant is expected at the rehearsals when they are scheduled.
​
When completing your audition form, please list all school functions, music lessons, sports, church, community activities, family vacations, etc. that will take place during rehearsal time or performance dates. Be honest and upfront with us, and if you are cast we will do our best to work around expected absences. After the list has been approved, any additional conflicts or unexcused absence may result in a change in the participant's role in the production.

IMPORTANT: all on-stage cast members and technical crew members MUST attend ALL rehearsals during tech week (July 6th-9th), as well as all performances (July 9th-12th).​​

PARTICIPATION FEE
For students cast in our summer production, Strongsville Community has a $125 participation fee for on-stage cast and $60 for technical crew members. This fee helps to make our show possible and covers a portion of our production costs such as costumes, sets, props, painting, royalty rights, performance, and rehearsal facilities. A show t-shirt will also be included for all cast and crew members.

FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE AVAILABLE
​
We believe theatre participation should be possible for every student. SCT is committed to providing financial assistance to all students who require help, and we never turn away a student for inability to pay participation fees. ABOUT THE SHOW

Who lives in a pineapple under the sea and became the hottest star on Broadway? Why, it's SpongeBob SquarePants! This one-hour edition of the hit Broadway musical, brilliantly adapted from the iconic Nickelodeon series, is specially tailored for young actors.
Plunge into this stunning all-singing, all-dancing, dynamic stage show! When the citizens of Bikini Bottom discover that a volcano will soon erupt and destroy their humble home, SpongeBob and his friends must come together to save the fate of their undersea world. With lives hanging in the balance and all hope lost, a most unexpected hero rises up. The power of optimism really can save the world!
The SpongeBob Musical is based on the beloved animated series created by Stephen Hillenburg and features a book by Kyle Jarrow, with original songs by Yolanda Adams, Steven Tyler and Joe Perry of Aerosmith, Sara Bareilles, Jonathan Coulton, Alexander Ebert of Edward Sharpe & The Magnetic Zeros, The Flaming Lips, Lady A, Cyndi Lauper, John Legend, Panic!
