This production is open to Strongsville City School students in 3rd - 5th Grade.

Registration is limited to the first 30 students that sign up.​

All registered students will be cast in the show!

AUDITIONS

 

Auditions will take place during our first rehearsal on Monday, October 12th.

Students do not need to prepare anything in advance.

Our director will teach the kids a song from the show to sing, and will work with them on-stage to determine role casting.

All registered students will be cast in the show!

REHEARSALS & PERFORMANCES

​

Rehearsals: Begin Monday, October 12th
Rehearsals will take place Mondays & Wednesday from 6:00pm-8:00pm

Tech Week rehearsals will take place Monday, November 16th - Thursday, November 19th (ATTENDANCE REQUIRED)

Performance Dates: Saturday, November 21st & Sunday, November 22nd at 2:00pm (ATTENDANCE REQUIRED)

All rehearsals and performances will take place in the Strongsville Middle School Main Auditorium, 13200 Pearl Rd, Strongsville, OH 44136

​​​​​

Students will audition for, rehearse and perform a Broadway-style show. Throughout the rehearsal process, students will have fun learning how all of the pieces of theatre come together. They will learn on-stage skills including vocal performance, choreography, character development and staging, plus get a glimpse of how things work backstage with costumes, sets, props, lighting and sound design.

CONFLICTS​

​​

Attendance by each participant is expected at the rehearsals when they are scheduled.

​​

When completing your audition form, please list all school functions, music lessons, sports, church, community activities, family vacations, etc. that will take place during rehearsal time or performance dates. Be honest and upfront with us, and we will do our best to work around expected absences. After the list has been approved, any additional conflicts or excessive absence may result in a change in the participant's role in the production.

​

IMPORTANT: all on-stage cast members and technical crew members MUST attend ALL rehearsals during tech week (Nov. 16th-19th), as well as ALL performances (Nov. 21st-22nd).​​

PARTICIPATION FEE

 

There is a $100 participation fee for all participants. This fee helps to make our show possible and covers a portion of our production costs such as costumes, sets, props, painting, royalty rights, performance, and rehearsal facilities. A show t-shirt will also be included for all cast and crew members.

FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE AVAILABLE

​

We believe theatre participation should be possible for every student. SCT is committed to providing financial assistance to all students who require help, and we never turn away a student for inability to pay participation fees. ABOUT THE SHOW

​​​​

Designed for elementary school students, Frozen KIDS is a 30-minute adaptation of the 2018 Broadway musical, which was based on the 2013 Walt Disney Animation Studios film, written by Jennifer Lee and directed by Chris Buck and Jennifer Lee. The production features all of the songs from the animated film, with music and lyrics by the creators of the film score, Kristen Anderson-Lopez and EGOT-winner Robert Lopez.

 

You’ll love this fanciful and heartwarming stage adaptation of the celebrated animated film. Join Anna, Elsa, Olaf, Sven, and all of your favorite characters as they embark on an epic, ice-filled journey of self-discovery, camaraderie, and the real meaning of true love. Adapted for young performers, this musical includes favorite Frozen songs such as “Love Is an Open Door,” “Do You Want to Build a Snowman?,” and “Let It Go,” as well as wonderful new songs from the Broadway production. This production of Frozen KIDS is sure to prove that “some people are worth melting for.” With a cast of beloved characters and loaded with magic, adventure, and plenty of humor, Frozen Kids is sure to thaw even the coldest heart!
